Building a community of faith through God's faithfulness in North Minneapolis

Introducing Kyle Substad

My name is Kyle. I was born and raised in the Twin Cities, so my Minnesotan accent may be strong. God gave me a heart for youth ministry about nine years ago while I was an assistant counselor at my church’s Jr. High Summer Camp. I have been ministering to youth in a variety of different capacities since then. Two years ago I received a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical and Theological Studies with an emphasis in cross-cultural ministry from Bethlehem College & Seminary. My desire for ministry is fueled by a love for God and a desire to draw others into a deep love for God as well. I am passionate about teaching Scripture and engaging people in meaningful conversation. Some of my personal interests include hiking, traveling, playing hockey and tennis, camping, board games, and enjoying time with friends.

I am very excited about the possibility of joining the family at Faith Baptist Church. One of the things that really drew me to this church is it’s orientation around family. The body of Christ is composed of people from all generations, and we can each learn from people older and younger than us. God has given me a heart for discipleship, and I would be honored to have the opportunity to disciple and be discipled at this church. Working directly with the youth especially excites me. At that age, the world tries to push and pull them in so many different directions, and Satan fires around so many different lies. I desire to join the families of Faith to help equip the youth with truth to fight sin, pursue Christ, and be godly leaders in the church, at school, among their friends, at their jobs, and in their family some day. It would be an honor and a joy to partner with all of you to carry out the work of the Gospel as a family for the glory of God.
